Edward Carroll Foreman Sr was born on October 24, 1882 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Jesse Rufus Foreman (1860-1941) and Addie (Sawyers) Foreman (1864–1961). [NOTE: Edward's middle name is spelled as Carrol on his World War I Draft Registration Card and as Carroll on his Death Certificate and in other public records.]
He was married about 1903 to Willie Byron (1884–1961), the daughter of Elijah Wheeler and Ada (Anderson) Wheeler.
Before going to work for L&N Railroad about 1922, he was partnered with his father in the horseshoe business. He was also a member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
A retired fireman for the L&N Railroad and living at 207 McCall Street, Woodbine in rural Davidson County, Edward was 69 years old when he died at home of "bronchogenic carcinoma" on May 10, 1952.
Survivors included his wife Willie, sons Edward C Foreman Jr and J E Foreman, his mother Mrs Jerre R Foreman, brother J W Foreman, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held at Bracey-Welsh Funeral Home, and burial was on May 11th in Woodlawn Memorial Park, Nashville.
