Obituary

Richard H. Davis, 66, of Venice, Florida died March 9, 2007. He was born July 7, 1940 in Lynch, Kentucky and moved to Venice 5 years ago from Pittsburgh, PA. He was Vice President of USWA – United Steel Workers of America, retiring in 2002. Mr. Davis started with the Steel Workers Union in 1962; graduated from Concord University in West Virginia; was active in the Democratic Party; was the USWA District 7 Director in Alabama; and traveled extensively as the USWA International Affairs Director. 

Survivors include his wife of 46 years Kay Davis of Venice; 2 sons Richard A. Davis of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL & Robert H. Davis of San Luis Obispo, CA; 4 grandchildren Caroline, Rocco, Madalyn, & Abagail; sister Brenda Miller of Charleston, WV; brother Jim Davis of Orange Park, FL; pre-deceased by his brother Tom Davis. 

A Gathering will be held on Monday, March 12th, from 2-3 PM at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00PM.
