Life Story and Memories

Bob´s passing
Bob´s passing is certainly a sad time for all but it is also a time of remembrance and rejoicing that he was . I believe his life was an inspiration for all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Bob and I shared many beautiful sunrises at work and beautiful sunsets with our families. Many Sunday evenings were enjoyed at the Kelso Farm as our Pizza night. We brought the pizza and Betty Ann made her famous iced tea and delicious homemade desserts. I am not at all sure, at the time, we knew how precious those gatherings would become.

Once, Bob surprised us with "Let´s all go to Disney World". That was the beginning of many enjoyable camping adventures to Disney´s Ft Wilderness campground and other exciting Florida experiences.
Our world was blest with the gift of Bob `s friendship and his love for his family Betty Ann, Susan and Brent. We witnessed his love of life not only for his family, children, grandchildren and as a loyal friend but also in his work. He was an skilled craftsman with all of equipment knowledge and never settled for second best.

I don´t think Bob realized how high he set the bar for others and in so doing became an inspiring role model.

My dear friend, l really had hoped we could have all grown old together. Rest In Peace Bob
We all will miss you.

Obituary

Robert "Bob" Kelso, of Melbourne, Fla., passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022, at the age of 82. Bob was born July 20, 1940, in Woodrow, to Dorothy and Clarence Kelso. He was the younger brother of C. David Kelso.

In 1969, he married Betty Ann McCulley. Bob and Betty are survived by their children, Susan Aliberti of Rockledge, Fla., and Brent Kelso of Wake Forest, N.C.; and grandchildren, Steven Couch and Vinny Aliberti of Florida, and David and Brynn Kelso of North Carolina.

Bob was a proud Army veteran. After completing a tour in Germany, he left the Army and started an excavation company in Claysville. He was known for hard work, honesty in dealing with his customers, and mastery of heavy equipment.

He was a volunteer fireman with the Claysville Volunteer Fire Department and loved working his hobby farm, which was well known for its beautiful Christmas displays, all hand-crafted by Bob. The family were members of Claysville United Methodist Church before moving to Florida. Bob's hobbies included gardening, going to Disney and time with his family.

A service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, November 21, at the Mount Prospect Cemetery, followed by an informal celebration at the Hickory Firehall.
